YOUR CHILDHOOD DOLLS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
In the “Magic room” of the museum there are over 500 dolls, which smile, cry, sing, dance and tell stories. The beauty of the “porcelain princesses” will amaze you – they wear crinolines and hats from the era of Queen Victoria. The “marionettes” are uniquely crafted – there are so many strings that you wonder the puppeteers move them.
The Japanese dolls have an interesting story to tell – they come from “the country of the 1000 dolls”. Why do they call it this way? The girls from the museum will tell you. They will tell you about the prototype of the Barbie doll, the 150-year-old Gerthruda, and they will also show you the smallest dolls – of the seven lucks - smaller than a fingernail…
